Congratulations...on ripping my heart out and stomping all over it!
Sincerely,
Broken Hearted!
Cliffhanger danger...my suggestion is to dive immediately into the next book...it's the only way your heart will mend!
The author does a brilliant job of character developement and growth. Two characters, in love, but in different stages in life. Caroline is 30 and married to a military officer, a man only concerned with work and his social appearance, and she's miserable. So when she meets Sebastian (be still my heart), a 17 year old surfer/high school student, he fawns over her and she finally gets a taste of what it's liked to be loved and cherished. At first, it was physical but as their relationship developes they both fall hopelessly in love. Caroline, knowing his age will get her in trouble, tries to stay away but she just can't deny what her heart wants.
Sebastian is wise for his age. He has a broken relationship with his drunken parents, so he's been taking care of himself for quite awhile. I immiedately loved him. He was sweet and sincere, honest and noble, and sexy as hell but innocent. He made Caroline feel so strong, desired, and worthy of love.
I didn't find the age difference bothersome at all, Sebastian is much more mature than most boys at seventeen and boy does he know how to love! Their love scenes were erotic but sensual. I was smitten with all their time together, it had me feeling like a teenager again and I loved it! But the ending broke my heart in two.
I was in LOVE with this story. The 400 plus pages only cover a few weeks so it's a little long but the whole time you're reading about Caroline and Sebastian, you're on pins and needles. Are they going to get caught? Is someone watching them? Will she leave her husband? What will happen? AHHH, it's enough to drive you insane.
