FUCK. FUCKING. CLIFFHANGERS!!!!
I should have read the reviews a little better. Had I known in advance that it would have left off like that, I would have waited until the next book came out!!! I hate waiting for another book to be released, by the time it does, I feel like I've lost the connection with the characters and I can't find motivation to re-read the first and sometimes I even forget about the next book.
Ok, putting away my spiteful opinions on cliffhangers, I LOVED this book!
Forbidden love, the teacher and a student. But what if the teacher gives it all up, just for you but you're too damaged to take the chance at a HEA?!?
Sidney is broken. Damaged by a past that won't leave her alone, she finds it hard to make friends. After one night of being set up on a blind date, she sits at the wrong table and innocently flirts with the HOT man at the table. Upon realizing her mistake, she's instantly embarrassed and quickly gets up to leave...not planning on running into Mr. HOT & SEXY again. After the rest of her blind date turns south, she abruptly leaves but spots Mr. HOT & SEXY in the parking lot and having car problems. After taking him home, having 'coffee', and then a completely HOT makeout session, they part ways. Well, since the book is more than 30 pages, you can imagine that this isn't their only encounter :)

Peter Granz, sorry, Dr. Peter Granz, new college English teacher. He's trying to escape a past that still haunts him. Having lost the love of his life to a tragic incident, he's not sure he knows how to feel anything but pain. Then, by mistake, meets Sidney. She makes him smile, laugh, and most importantly-she understands him. It's been so long since he's felt anything like this, and thus begins the twisted tale of the forbidden love that they shouldn't have for each other.
With some twists and turns, hot & heavy tension, and revealing of scars, their relationship blooms into something no one would have expected...not even them.
I'm not sure I'd rate this book as a YA novel but it certainly wasn't erotica. There wasn't sex, only one scene that almost had me on fire, but it was sensual-not erotically descriptive. The tension between Sid and Peter is scorching but not much becomes of it...but still fun to read.
I'm dying to get my hands on the next book...hopefully it'll be out soon, not sure how long I can hold on before I forget the hot chemistry between Sid & Peter.
